Safe Working with VDUs

An alternative approach to having a competent person carrying out workstation assessments for everyone else, is to give individuals the necessary competence to assess their own workstation to enable safe working with VDU's. This has the advantages of savings in staff time and perhaps more importantly greater compliance to the principles of good workstation practice (if the individual takes on board the message, they won’t revert to bad practice once the assessor has left the room).

Course Objective

  • Be able to identify when to ask for extra help/advice in workstation set up.
