Vibration Course Objectives
This on site course is designed to ensure that delegates are:
- aware of implications of current legislation
- know how to identify tasks involving use of vibrating equipment
- know the potential health effects of working with vibrating tools
- know how to minimise the effects of working with vibrating tools
Programme
- The nature of the risk, and signs of injury
- How and why any signs of injury should be reported, either to someone who will arrange for them to be investigated, or as part of an established routine health surveillance programme
- Action the workers should take to minimise vibration being directed in to the hands
- Maintaining good blood circulation
- Making sure tools are properly maintained
- Reporting defects and problems with equipment and obtaining where necessary
- A brief guide to the legislation
