Advancing Occupational Healthcare in British Business

Since 1947

Occupational Health

Occupational Health plays a vital role in helping employers care for and understand the needs of their employees.  It is about fitting the job to a person and a person to the job.

As the longest established independent Occupational Health and Safety provider, Corporate Health helps customers address Occupational Health issues in a way that benefits both the worker and the company.  We help businesses reduce sickness absence levels whilst optimising staff performance and productivity at the same time. As an organisation that has pioneered the provision of independent occupational health and safety services, we take pride in our ability to offer innovative quality solutions to staff health problems.

Due to more rigorous Occupational Health and safety legislation being in place, many industrial diseases have virtually disappeared. However, the amount of time and money which is being lost as a result of staff illnesses, is greater than ever.

Lots of factors which are directly related to modern day living such as social changes, breakthrough technology and new work practices have seen an increase in time lost to musculoskeletal complaints and emotional problems. Staff sickness and absence can dramatically impact any business, losing time, money and delaying completion of important tasks. Whilst there is only so much that can be done to prevent members of staff calling in sick, how this is managed can improve the way your business is run and affect your profitability.

The Occupational Health Charity

As a charity, Corporate Health attracts many quality partners through which to deliver a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to Occupational Health.  Our partners in Physiotherapy, Health and Well-Being and Weight Management are leaders in their field and regularly work with ourselves across our customers to deliver a seamless Occupational Health service.  The advantage of this for our customers is twofold.

Firstly, whether the issues are related to safety, HR policy, physiotherapy, health and well-being, stress or other health-related matters.  Corporate Health have a first-class integrated Occupational Health service, which means that our customers are still only dealing with ourselves and not having to spend valuable time and money coordinating several different “health providers".

Secondly, Occupational Health is largely a “reactive" service especially when it comes to managing absence at work.  However with our partners in Health and Well-Being, Physiotherapy and Weight Management Corporate Health can offer a “proactive” Occupational Health service that aims to prevent and reduce referrals into Occupational Health.

This may seem contradictory to a prospective customer that Corporate Health would look to reduce referrals back into ourselves and thereby reduce our revenue and fees from our customers.  However unlike a commercial provider, Corporate Health is a charity whose aim as a not-for-profit organisation is to advance Occupational Healthcare in British business.  Therefore we invest heavily in delivering a leading Occupational Health service that supports our customers, their businesses, their policies and people.
